Dental Care Technology

Modern dentistry is constantly developing new ways to make your visits faster, easier, more comfortable, and better for the world around us. These latest advances allow for earlier, less-invasive treatment, which means faster healing times and better precision for dental procedures. And you’ll love the results!

Introducing digital X-rays, available for our patients. Using this technology, an image is taken of your smile with a digital sensor and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available. We can also view your entire mouth in one image, including the upper and lower jaws, using panoramic digital X-rays. These methods result in 75% less radiation than older film X-rays. There is also no more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste to pollute the environment.
We are pleased to include a new technology in the fight against cavities. DEXIS CariVu™ shines a light through your tooth, making it very easy for the doctor to see where early cavities may be. This helps detect future problems to keep an eye on, as well as issues that need immediate attention. Combined with the use of digital X-rays and the intra-oral camera, CariVu allows us to determine the complete health of your teeth.

Intra-oral and extra-oral cameras enable your dentist to show you the interior of your mouth by capturing digital images. The intra-oral camera’s unique liquid lens technology works like the human eye to ensure effortless image capture. You can see clear, detailed, close-up images to help you really understand what’s happening with your teeth. When used together, radiographs, trans-illuminated images, and digital photographs provide a comprehensive picture of your oral health.

We are excited to offer the intra-oral scanner. Our doctors are able to use this to make digital impressions of your crown or bridge area, removing the need in many instances for uncomfortable tray and putty impressions. They also use the device for Invisalign™ and ClearCorrect™ clear aligners. This technology means an even better precision for your new crown or bridge and improved accuracy for your clear aligner treatment course. This means less time at the dentist and more time enjoying your new smile.

Sterilization is taken very seriously in our practice. In addition to cleaning and sterilizing all instruments after every use, single-use tools are utilized as necessary. Instruments are sterilized after each use with a special machine called an autoclave, which is regularly monitored by an independent lab to ensure a high level of safety and cleanliness. We think your health is too important to take even the slightest of risks.
